The Opportunity



Our client is looking to bring on an experienced Product Manager in a newly created position to assist with unprecedented growth within the business. The Product Manager will be responsible for product development and ongoing product management lifecycle for a range of products and services. The Product Manager will support initiatives for new product development, support launch, issues resolution and monitoring as well as manage product obsolesce pathways. This position will work in partnership with key business stakeholders including third party suppliers (product and data), Business Analysts, IT development, Sales and Business Units to develop and implement the Product Roadmap. This role will also provide pre sales support, being the liason with prospective customers to provide the product value proposition to support a sale whilst being involved in the S.O.W process.


Responsibilities:


End to End ownership, support, development and implementation of the Product Roadmap

Identify product opportunities within the Australasian market and interact regularly with customers to explore ideas and gain feedback

Lead product development and changes

Collaborate to identify new technologies that hold the potential to improve the product

Work cross functionally to insure optimal speed and quality throughout development and go to market

Define and implement the go to market and pricing strategy of new products and product changes

Monitor product performance against revenue goals and liaise with business units to collate and synthesize insight

Lead strategic product planning to achieve ODS's goals by prioritizing product initiatives and coordinating the business cases, customer research, evaluation, competitor analysis, and management of current and future products.

Collaborate with IT, Marketing and Sales during the product development lifecycle to ensure consistency between product and promise.

Support the successful delivery of new products/enhancements through the full project lifecycle.

Ensure the requirements gathering process is comprehensive and that documentation is specific, detailed and clear for Developers and Designers

Move requirements through the Product Development Process and ensure stakeholder communication throughout

Minimise the time-to-market period for new product enhancements and maintenance releases by limiting scope to key marketable features.

Interpret information for the preparation of detailed functional requirements, including screen flow and business rules.

Develop and maintain documentation that captures all required system behaviour, including non functional requirements and system constraints ready for IT development.

Working closely with IT, assist in developing test strategies and preparing test documentation (this might include documents such as test plans and test cases).

Co-ordinate training and process documentation for distribution to Sales, Customer Service teams, etc

Assist with development of proposals and supporting material for new sales initiatives

Review new product initiatives post launch to ensure KPI's are met


Experience:


5+ years in a sales/marketing/product function with specific experience in product management

Tertiary qualification in a business discipline required;

Strong influencing and relationship skills with the ability to liaise and partner closely across customers and internal business unit heads;

Advanced knowledge of product management and product lifecycle management;

Proven track record of successful performance in an intense environment;

Experience managing online projects including an understanding of online design fundamentals

Good understanding of web technologies and the internet, and the ability to evaluate the applicability of trends to the business;

Experience in user-centric Product development and design.
